It’s a sad day for Cars fans as Mattel has announced today that they are canceling the Cars diecast line. Mattel said that this is a direct result of the Blu-Ray McQueen mail away offer fiasco. According to a Mattel representative, the Blu-Ray McQueen incident disappointed so many collectors that they felt it was unwise to continue producing the Cars diecast line. Apparently, the Mattel executives were so afraid of their reputation being damaged in this case that the decision was made to end the line.
There aren’t many more details than that available at this time, but I will post when I know more.
Happy April Fool’s Day!

I thought it was real at first, but I did think it was absurd that because of the mail away fiasco they would cancel the whole line.
no way that was very funny you had me up until i read the april fools good stuff
Yes, this was a joke for April Fool’s Day, although no one really responded. So I guess no one thought it was funny, except for me. I tried to make it clear it was a joke, so no one would take it seriously and get that upset about it. My apologies if anyone was harmed in the process.
So is this a joke? Reputation be damned. I don’t imagine they will want to be quitting on those profits from this cars collecting fever.
how about a list of the newest cars that are out now
