Occasionally, you may find Cars being sold at some off-the-beaten path retail stores. Walgreens is one of those places. Walgreens has a store near where I work, and while I don’t go in there often, I do check for Cars when I happen to be in there. They carry the new World of Cars series, but they are usually common ones. I haven’t seen any hard to find Cars or newer Cars. Plus, they only have one peg with Cars on it, and it only fits about 3 or 4 at a time.
So, I was surprised the other day to find Not Chuck sitting there on the pegs at Walgreens. It’s not the same as finding Chuki or Lightning Ramone, but it showed me that I need to keep checking because they can get new ones in.
Where are you finding diecast Cars that you didn’t expect? Let us know in the comments. Thanks.
I was at LAX last weekend and happened past a kiosk with a large wall of Cars. I found Chuki and managed to add red Mia and Tia, PT and Flik to my nephew’s collection. They also had a bunch of Gasprin and Tow Cap. The price was higher than the usual retailers, but less when you compare with e-bay s/h costs.
i check my local wal mart at night when they bring out there inventory and go through the boxes i always find something new in the boxes they never restock the pegs target and kmarts are also worth a look
I have found them at KOHL’s Department Store, Krogers, Meijer, Walgreens and of course, ToysRus and WalMart. Toledo, Ohio.
I started buying these things, that have turned into an obsession only because I found the original Lightning McQueen (desert back card) in a Advance Auto Parts store. There are about 6 within a 50 mile radius of my town. Needless to say, the manager of one store out of town was buying up all of the ones in other towns and got to mine before me. Battlelines were clearly drawn. That was August of 2006, now its Spring of 2008 and I’m looking at 190+ carded vehicles thumbtacked to my office wall.
Thanks out of town manager where ever you are…
Other places I have found Cars; Big Lots, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Farm & Fleet and Gordman’s. Most of these places will only get their toys at Christmas, or they will get a shipment every few months. I found my first Rusty & Dusty Rust-Eze Movie Moment at Gordman’s(clothing store), and I have seen Not Chuck there, but they only get a shipment of toys every 3 or 4 months.
I’ve spotted them at Kroger before, but it may have been a Christmas season only thing. Still, it was unexpected!
