Wal-Mart is planning a pallet/cube/4-sided display of Cars, scheduled to drop sometime in the next week or two, possibly on Black Friday. The pallet will contain new diecast with 1 side of singles and 1 side of launchers, similar to past displays.
There is a confirmed list of new Cars on this display. The singles will contain Cars from case B, with new releases Tank Coat Pitty, RPM Crew Chief, and Boost w/Boot (Chase). New launchers included are Piston Cup Racers Tank Coat and Easy Idle.

Went WMing today in Americus, Cordele, and Tifton. Tifton had the 4 way. The launcher side had nothing newer than Trunk Fresh. That side was almost full. Raco-o-rama side still had 1 Dale Jr. and all the other case B’s except booted Boost. I was able to go because my wife went TDY to Robins AFB in Warner Robins. I have her trained well because she checked out K-mart in Warner Robins, GA. They had case B as well as Marco and at least 2 Mack’s. She also found booted Boost. So the grandson and I are set on the first 6 extra larges and case B.
I live in the middle of nowhere(KY) & we have the pallet at our WalMart. I got all mine at KMart a few weeks before though.
Wouldn’t you know it? I go to Wal-Mart tonight and I find case B. They weren’t on a display though, they were on one of those hanging peg displays on the side of an endcap. I walked right by them the first time.
Well I kept my Monday morning appointment. With less than a friendly “how do you do” from both the toy girl and an assistant manager that was present; they reluntantly went to check the “Cars” labeled four-way in the stockroom. When she returned after 15 minutes she informed me it was Hot Wheels not Cars. I then asked about the large size for $5 from the weekend? I told her I spent Saturday going to the next four towns (in a loop from here) looking; they all seemed to have trays of $5 cars and I was able to find some for my sister-in-law (yes now I’m buying for 3); the toy girl said “Oh those sold out.” To which I replied “No, I was here Friday at 5 a.m. and there were no more than the 5 Al Oft sitting there.” So you can see my morning was not as rewarding as I had hoped, but the hunt is still on. That is the most fun in collecting, the HUNT. Oh, on Saturday I was able to find my sister-in-law 38 different newer Cars from 7 different stops.
The plan: Check Wal-mart every day by 10:00 am.
Next week I’ll do the loop to the north.
My local Wal-Mart here in Ohio had the cube with cars in it. I was able to get RPM Crew Chief.
Same here. I was able to make it to one Wal-Mart today, and all they had was the new Transporter with Bumper Save. If they had any others, they were all gone by the time I got there.
Was bummed this am because the 2 WalMarts I visited didn’t have any new Cars out. Hopefully they will put them out sometime soon! By the way, love the blog
I have an appointment with the toy girl on Monday to see the display before she puts it out. She was too busy to put it out for the weekend plus she told me Cars aren’t hot anymore. I tried to tell her to put out the new stuff and watch it go!
Another note: my son came for Thanksgiving and brought me the poster that was packed with the K-mart Cars Day promotion. It shows all for 2008. from it I found out that the pitty for #28s name is Hugo Fast. I will frame it tomorrow and try to post the picture.
