Now that we’re officially in 2009, you may be asking yourself what’s up with the Cars toys this year. Well, to answer that question, let’s refer to the 2009 Collector Guide.
Mattel released it at the end of 2008 so that collectors will have an idea of what’s coming this year. Although it doesn’t give us any clue as to when these will be released. My previous post listed everything that was in the guide, but I’m going to update the list here with what hasn’t yet been released and add release dates where available.

What do I have?
While looking through the 2009 Collector’s Guide I noticed that #35 Lightning McQueen with Bumper Stickers has hub caps and a sponsor logo on the front of the rear spoiler. #110 Whitewalls Lightning McQueen has no sponsor logo and has racing rims. I found in Target a #110 Whitewalls Lightning McQueen M5438 Asst1054 UPC 27084 72447 with the sponsor logo and hubs. It has no chase markings on the package nor confetti. Do I have stickers or a whitewalls different from the one in the guide. Mine looks just like the sticker but I do’nt see any labels on it not on my other Lightning McQueens.
I also noticed the tar marking and the sponsor logo seems to come and go. Night Vision has the tar spot on the front fender but not the others after Bessie put it there. Tumblweed has a sponsor logo but not Dirt Track or Cactus.
Just found – Exclusive at target. Team HTB, Team Dinoco, and Team Rust-eze. Packaging shows these to be the only 3. Sell at $19.99 each under Cars Pit Cre #087071920.
Team HTB is Chick Hicks Hauler, Chick Hicks, and Bruiser Bukowski with hauler opening on the sides.
Team Dinoco is Gray Hauler, The king and Dinoco Pitty (looks just like Luke Pedalworks) with hauler opening to the side.
Tean Rust-eze is Mack Hauler, Lightning McQueen, and My Name is Not Chuck with hauler opening in the rear with pull out work area and ramp.

There is still no new Cars in Northern Illinois from the end of 2008, and it doesn’t look like any new ones will be out anytime soon.
