Alright collectors, this is a pre-game warm up for Kmart Cars Collector Day on Saturday June 20, 2009. To make sure your store is hosting this event, here is a list of participating stores published by Mattel. Some stores are getting the Cars in but putting them out early, so you may want to check ahead of time to see if they already have put them out.
It starts at 11:00 AM. You may want to get there early. They are supposed to pass out numbers in line. Then in order of the numbers given out, you will be allowed to purchase 5 of the exclusive Cars from case K. If there are any left over once everybody has gone, you will be allowed to purchase more.
I can’t stress this enough, your experience may vary! Stores may not follow this procedure. If you are wondering, you might want to ask someone at your local store. As I already mentioned, some stores are already putting them on the shelves. Good luck to everyone, and let us know how your day goes!
Here is a list of the exclusive Cars in case K. Also, it is confirmed the Mario Andretti does have red rims. There are also several Piston Cup racers in this case. This will be the first time all of these will be released on a single cardback, plus they will all have synthetic rubber tires, making them completely unique.

Does anyone know where I can get the seven synthetic tire cars at the original kmart price? And have them sent to Australia?
i’m in columbia sc and NO ONE was at my store! i got a full case and they even give me all of the posters on display and everything! didn’t have to wait on anything!
Just back from our Kmart release. Got there at 1030am with my four year old, we were #2 in line. The two other guys there were Hot Wheels collectors and had no clue what the Disney Cars were all about. Needless to say they brought out ten cases at 11am, we were each given one, but I only opened one – we were only after all the new releases and then were out of there. Came home with lots of fancy new cars! My fave is Todd the Pizza Planet truck
The guy coordinating the event was kind enough to give my son the poster with all the cars on it too – SCORE!
Kmart offered the CARS Day cases on a “Pre-Order” basis a couple of weeks ago, so I ordered mine then. It’ll be nice not having to worry about having my number drawn on the 20th and getting the cars I want.
I lucked out that my Kmart must have messed up, as some of these were already out on the shelves.
