Last week, I told you that for the rest of the year, the regular diecast Cars will be called Classics and go Target exclusive, in favor of the Look My Eyes Change Cars. We now know that the Target exclusive Cars will be known as “The Final Lap.”
Presumably, the Final Lap refers to the fact that this will be the last assortment of Cars before Cars 2 in 2011. There is a new card design with a badge reading “The Final Lap.” This will be the card design for 2009-2010, so when the next design comes out in the Fall of 2010, hopefully, it will be the card design for Cars 2, continuing into 2011, when the movie is set to be released.
Expect to see these Cars starting August 2009. Tomorrow night, I will have more info on which new Final Lap Cars we will see coming soon.
