vehicles with real synthetic rubber tires include:
#84 Re-Volting
#52 Leak Less
#68 N2O Cola
#58 Octane Gain
#73 Rev-N-Go
#76 Vinyl Toupee
#34 Trunk Fresh
*Quantities are while supplies last, and the assortment may vary.
Update: There are 5 lenticular Cars in the assortment.
Brand New Mater
Chick Hicks
Lightning McQueen
Ramone (Yellow)
Sheriff
Since it is the first release of Yellow Ramone and Brand New Mater as lenticulars on card, we assume that those are the 2 “new to market” Cars. So yes this is very disappointing. I will be going to get the rubber tire racers and nothing else, and I won’t be pre-ordering a case.

As posted previously, I went to this event. I like the rubber tires but the packaging keeps changing and I’m getting bored trying to keep up with all the different packaging. I have enjoyed collecting this stuff and I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with in the next movie but I’m also looking forward to finding something different to do with my life! Driving to Wal-Mart at 7AM on saturdays and saying ‘hi’ to the same lady who hands out shopping carts is killing my buzz! And yet the thing that bothers me most is that I still do not have Kori Turbowitz, Sarge, and Elvis…………I guess I should pass the torch to the next generation of Cars collectors………..
This is the 2nd K-Mart event I have attended to get Cars for grandson, The Mighty Casey. When we got to K-Mart Sat. 10/17, there was no signage about the event whatsoever – but we asked about it and were directed to “a table somewere in the back of the store.” After an exhaustive search, no table to be found. Finally Papa Tom noticed a woman wheeling three boxes around near the toy department, so he asked her – and, lo and behold, she was “the event.” (Oh, and it was now 11:20.) The lady was very nice and friendly, opened one larger box – and offered boxes holding the total selection to each of the 3 of us waiting – we chose what we wanted (for The Boy, 6 of the race cars), and the lady graciously gave us each a huge poster (which will make a fun matching game for The Mighty Casey and Nana to play!!) When we left, a 4th interested party, a mom and daughter, had arrived. Ta Da! Some “event”!!!!!!!! And much like the first one I attended in The Boy’s home town last Spring. But he loves the race cars – so there you go
We only need N2 Cola so we won’t be going to this event when the doors open. Last time we went and after and they had several cars left. If they don’t have that one we are looking for we will just order for it. This box is disappointing.
I’m curious to know if these K-mart days will be any better then the last few ones.
Do you have to go ahead of time to sign up or something?? How do you find out what stores are participating? Any guidance would be appreciated!!!
I forgot to check the email notification box so I’m responding again any help regarding this event would be appreciated
I don’t have a list of stores this time but if you are wondering if your store is participating or not, I would give them a call and see if they what they can tell you. I would even ask for the manager.
Generally, the event starts at 11 AM. They pass out tickets to those in line and they draw a number. When your number is drawn, you get to go and pick out a certain number of Cars to buy.
Disappointing, I agree. I only need N2O Cola. Then I will only need Faux Wheel Drive, Sidewall Shine, Tach-o-Mint, Gask-its, and Apple Car to complete the S.O.S. set car-by-car. Anyone got any leads on the others?
You can get Sidewall Shine at DisneyStore.com (as well as a much larger diecast metal Frank).
Oops! The diecast Sidewall Shine offered by DisneyStore.com is a much larger version than the 1:55 of the regular series.
How disappointing.Come on Mattel, you can do better than that for all your collectors who have been patiently waiting for some new arrivals.
I’m none too fond of K-Mart when it comes to any toys. They put on these “collector days” events, and then the rest of the year zip, zilch, nothing. I wonder if the lack of any real exclusive cars is Mattel deciding not to waste anything good on K-Mart. Well, I guess thats enough of my complaining for this week. See Ya
None of these are actually “new to market.” Re-volting is available in a Target exclusive 4 pack and N2O Cola was available through a Toys R Us mail in offer. Of course, the 4 pack had 3 cars that everybody already has 2 or 3 of, and the N2O Cola from Toys R Us is in a display case, so these are welcome. I guess the same can be said for Vinyl Toupee, Rev-N-Go and Trunk Fresh, which were also offered either as part of exclusive multipack or with a launcher. This is kind of “ho-hum” after the last K-mart event which had many all-new characters.
The description says “2 new to market vehicles.” That is not referring to the racers. We don’t know what those will be yet. Plus the Piston Cup Cars with rubber tires are different enough to me to get all of them.
