You may have noticed a few new Cars books showing up at retail lately. Mater’s Tall Tales is indeed a book version of the Cars Toons Mater’s Tall Tales animated shorts that debuted last year. I haven’t yet seen it in person, but I have heard that it is out there. It’s available on Amazon here.

Also now showing up is Mater Saves Christmas. I found it at Target this week. It’s also getting Christmas Cars based on the book. Mater saves Christmas is also available on Amazon here. The book itself is pretty good. And although only 6 Cars have been shown so far, there are even more in the book that could be made.

I have a question maybe someone here can answer. Does Dr. Mater come with both face mask up and down? I have seen him on single card and in the box set with mask down, but in an early post there was a picture of him with his mask up. Has anyone seen this “variant”? Thanks
Not sure how, but I’ve had the Mater’s Tall Tales book for at least a year. Don’t think it’s new.
I have read Mater’s Tall Tales and it is really cute. I collect all the diecast CARS and it goes nicely with them. Have not seen Mater Saves Christmas yet, but am looking for it.
