The Mater Saves Christmas Story Tellers series is now hitting retail stores in time for the holiday season. I think these are a Target exclusive since they are part of the Story Tellers line. Targets are doing a holiday reset right now, so they should be out at your store soon, if not already.
Mater Saves Christmas Gift Pack
The gift pack is showing up first, and the boxset contains an exclusive Mater. The Mater is only available in the gift pack and not as a single. So I’m not really sure why anyone would buy the singles, unless you just don’t want Mater. But who wants Mater Saves Christmas without Mater? This seems like another Mattel ploy to get more money out of collectors.

Update: the singles are also showing up at Toys R Us, but no word on whether the gift pack is still exclusive. Also, there are 2 types of packaging for the singles, the normal Target style story tellers packaging and new snow globe packaging.

The box set is Target only. It looks like you are in the UK though. You could try ebay. Here is a direct link.
Picked up two gift packs at Target. $30 each is a bit steep ($5 per car, where regular cars run around $3.50), but this will be a good Christmas gift. I even broke my “no Christmas until after Thanksgiving” rule for these.

Had a Scouting weekend so last Thursday night I did the stock # check and the sweet girl found them in the stockroom just like the price check machine said she would. Got 2 Six Packs for me and the Grandson. He will display them with his Hallmark McQueens from the last 3 years.
for anyone who can’t find the set you can look in target’s seasonal aisles where they keep the christmas candy and trinkets. they have them all individually packaged but they are $6 each f.y.i.
i had thought about getting them but frankly i realized why? my kid can’t play with these year round because it would look silly. i buy toys to be toys.

Because the set costs 30 bucks. It’s not a rip-off, but…it’s 30 bucks.
Doc and Sheriff are our favorite characters anyway, so we just picked up those two for now. The wreath on Doc’s grille is a hoot.
went to 3 different targets today. I found 1 store that had 2 Christmas lightning mcqueens but nothing else.
Thanks for the head’s up! We headed over to Target this morning, and they had all the Christmas Cars as well as all the Stunt Mater and Rescue Mater items.
NOTE: Target’s stocking the Christmas Cars in the Christmas candy/stocking stuffer aisle. Glad I looked: The toy dept. employees had told us they didnt’ have them yet.
They store’s computer didn’t even recognize the singles at the register, so the employees had no way to even check their system. The storyteller packaging of the singles is really charming.
I just picked up the singles at toys r us… No Mater so i decided I would check your site to see whats up… Then i find out Mater doesn’t get a singles release so now I get to return the singles and search for the complete set. fml
I sure hope I can find this soon…it’s a great looking set… What was that line in the one song… “it’s not Christmas without Mater”
