More and more Final Lap Cars are starting to show up, and we have made it to case C right before year end. New Cars in case C are Pit Crew Sarge, Muddy McQueen and Costanzo Della Corsa. Pit Crew Sarge is another one of those Cars promised a long time ago. His production was delayed by the lead paint recall Sarge of course. Muddy McQueen and Costanzo Della Corsa have also been promised for a long time, having first been seen at Comic Con 2008.
Anyway, case C should be showing up at a Target near you, real soon. Here are some pics.

Today on the Clearance shelves at a Target, we found a Sponsorless Lightning McQueen which I can find only among the Storytellers and not among new Cars for 2009; he is without any decoration except the 95 with lightning bolt on his sides (both, I guess; although he is still in the Storyteller packaging.) I also have Wedding Ramone who was in a Storyteller package with Flo and who was not listed in 2009. And there appears to be a Smell Swell Lightning McQueen in the Storytellers group, not listed in 2009 also. What about these?
Those are all from the first Story Teller release in 2008. I briefly mentioned them here but I only listed the new ones.

I believe there is a link in that post to the 2008 release which I pointed to rather than relist the old ones.
Thank you – I didn’t begin reading this blog until 2009. I did also get the Ransburg Chase #115 DJ – The Boy has his original #52 DJ in So Fl – so I am not sure how it differs – more shiny blue color and detail, I am guessing. There also appears to be a superchanrged DJ – ???? How is he different?
Ah ok. What’s different about Ransburg DJ is the special Ransburg shiny paint job. This is the same thing that is special about the Darrell Cartrip Chase Car.
Supercharged DJ is only different because of the packaging. Otherwise he is the same. This goes for most of the Cars other than Chase Cars and the Lenticular Cars. Mattel released the same Cars every year in different packaging until the lenticular Cars in 2009. Now they are basically doing the same with lenticular Cars and the regular Cars are Final Lap only.
Thanks. Am taking the Ransburg Chase DJ back to store – we play with the boy’s Cars – and duplicating with every issue becomes cost-prohibitive. Will save for another day. ;o)
Found Mood Springs and Sidewall Shine haulers in Topeka, KS last week. Today found all three new final lap cars in Lawrence, KS. Trying to keep up.
I have just purchased Costanzo Della Corsa, Muddy Lightning McQueen, Pit Crew Member Sarge – and #14 Hauler Mood Springs this morning at one of the two Gulf Coast Targets in my area.. Have not seen the Sidewall Shine Hauler down here..
