Cars Collectors Day this year will be held on June 12th, 2010. If you can’t make it, or you just want to get a jump on everyone else, you can pre-order cases of this years exclusive assortment tomorrow starting at 11 am ET.
The assortment this year again features previously-released vehicles, now rolling on synthetic rubber tires. Here they are:

Attended the THRILLINGLY THRONGED (wrong!!) K-Mart Cars Event this morning. There were 2 of us, count ‘em, two of us arriving just at 11 a.m. The young man was pleasant, handed us each a case – and since we were “it” for the first box of cases when opened, he handed us each a poster for 2010 (very disappointing collection of vehicles in The Boy’s and my view.) I selected our 2 racers – the collector also there selected his whole case and chatted. He said there would be 3 more events at K-Mart this year to get rid of the older first movie Cars in preparation for the new movie in summer 2011. The nice young man running the “event” knew nothing about anything. Oh, and I checked the pegs in the Cars section of K-Mart toys – a pitiful collection of reissued lenticular cars – and a few new combo boxes with old stuff in them. TA DA!! Glad to get our poster and the 2 racers, and that was all there was at the K-Mart in Pensacola.
I’m disappointing that there is nothing new in Piston Cup Cars and other new cars.
I’m very disappointed that there will not be any new Piston Cup racers coming out in this K-Mart event. I was really hoping for the Apple Car, Gask-Its and Tach-O-Mint. Are we EVER going to be able to get these cars as a single? I already have all the rest of the racers and I don’t care to buy any more just because they have new rubber tires on them. This really stinks and I’m not going to waist my time or money.
It is very disappointing that there is nothing new at all among the Cars that are not racers – I was hoping for at least wrecked Mood Springs. I don’t have a couple of the racers for The Boy; but I will have to drive about 45 minutes to get to a K-Mart for those two – luckily we can save up some other errands to do in the area of the store. The two times in the past I have attended, I have been almost the first and only person in line at about 11:45 a.m.; last time there were 2 other collectors behind me – and that was all. I am not sure why Mattel bothers – but on the two times previous to 2010, I really did get several race cars and Cars The Boy didn’t have.
Guess I will just have to go to K-Mart on the 12th. Thanks for the info. KE
There are only 2 of the race cars and none of the others The Boy needs. Are we able to buy them individually at the pre-sale? Probably not, I would guess. Can’t believe Cars for $1.49 at K Mart – just don’t shop there enough, I guess.
