As you may already know, the Kmart Cars Collector Event 2010 is being held in Kmarts across the US on June 12th at 11 AM. Yesterday, I posted about the Kmart.com pre-sale and the details of the case that will be offered. Here is a recap for those of you planning on going to the event.
There will be 8 Piston Cup racers featuring the synthetic rubber tires. There are 24 Cars in the case. The rest of the assortment will be lenticular Cars. The case breakdown is available on the previous post as well.
The way previous Kmart events have gone is there is a line formed where each person gets to come up and open a case and get what they want out of it. Then the next person has a turn until all the cases have been opened. There hasn’t been enough attendance at any of the events I have been to, to cause any sort of a problem at all. But your mileage may vary.

Cant wait for KDay 5, there are pics of Gaskits, Faux Wheel Drive, and Tachomint all with rubber tires coming from overseas!!!

Ok, I made the comment on here before that I wasn’t going to waste my time going to this event because there weren’t going to be any new character cars or Piston Cup racers in it. Curiosity got the better of me and I made it to the Little Rock, Arkansas K-Mart just as the lady was opening the cases up. Me and two others were there and we all got a poster and as many of the cars as we wanted. Did I mention that it was going to be a total waste of time? What a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! How lame can Mattel be doing the same characters over and over again? I did not buy a single car but I got a free poster for my time and the hunt still continues…
My KMart in El Paso, Texas ( West side of town ) told me they did not receive any cars and that the event was cancelled permanetly. Gave me a $10 gift card for my time . . .
Got to my store around 10:30. Helped the sales lady set up the table and she gave me the 2 posters from the first case; she took the second case’s set of poster. If they had not made a PA announcement I would have been the only shopper. One lady and her son responded to the announcement but had no idea what was going on. Bought 2 Dale Jr. and one of each of the racers for the tire varient.
I could not make the event at 11:00 AM this morning. I showed up at about 1 PM, 2 hours later. I checked the shelves first, and only found 3 of the characters. I was disappointed, but I wanted to check to see if anymore were left over before I left.
On the way to find someone to help me, I passed an endcap with all the Kmart Cars on it. It was pretty much still full. So my guess is almost no one showed up for these today. I was able to get all of them and there were PLENTY left over.
Got to The Indianapolis West Side K-Mart and got all the racers.. There were only 4 people (including myself) there.
In case anyone lives in the area, the Kmart on 34th St in Manhattan already has these on the shelves. I just picked up Transberry Juice.
I will have to be sure to get there by November so I can get a set, seeing that this set is just as lousy as the last one, all the K-marts near me still have cars from the last collector days.
It is the same thing here at the Indianapoils Kmart.
